Sublimation is a very effective and versatile process for applying artwork, photographs or designs, to textiles and garments. Sublimation is one of the most accurate methods for printing high quality images.

Dye sublimation printing allows you to use as many colors as you want, and the finished product after sublimation does not have any detectable difference in feel or texture. The only minor issues with sublimation are that it must be applied to a synthetic fabric like polyester or lycra, and it only works well on lighter colored fabrics. White fabrics work the best. Sublimation printing will not show up on black.

To understand how sublimation printing works best think of an artist and his canvas. An artist would not start with a very dark or black canvas because his paints would not show up well. He could however start with a white canvas and paint it any color or number of colors that he wants to. That's how sublimation printing works. We start with white or lighter colored garments and then we use sublimation printing to create any number of colors imaginable. 

The great thing about sublimation is that it will work with any polymer coated material. We can sublimate all sorts of things like, license plates, name tags, all access passes, backstage passes, ceramic tile, coffee mugs, glass, trophys, plaques, table cloths, and many more things.  

Sublimation printing allows us to reproduce the entire color spectrum on your garments. When utilizing sublimation printing you are not limited to the number of colors that can be used. This is great when you are wanting to reproduce full color photographs.

Sublimation printing utilizes a special dye sublimation ink that actually turns into a gas when heated to a certain temprature. Sublimation ink only works on synthetic fabrics such as polyester. We often use sublimation printing on 80% poly 20% cotton T-shirts. The higher the polyester content in the shirt the better the sublimation print will look. Some of our customers like to use shirts with a lower percentage of polyester in them in order to give a vintage or worn look to the garment. Subliamtion printing is a great method for accurately reproducing artwork that has a lot of detail with a wide range of colors.

When garments are printed using sublimation ink it does not change the feel of the garment. This is a very desirable feature. Sublimation printing will also last the lifetime of the garment. Most of the colorful jerseys that you see the cyclist wearing in the Tour de France are printed using sublimation.

Sublimation printing will also work on a vast number of other materials. We can also print on luggage tags, sports bottles, bags, mouse pads, towels, belt buckles, dog tags, and puzzles.
